Wrapping up National Eating Disorders Awareness Week – a Recap

Well National Eating Disorders Awareness Week has come to an end! And we would like to thank each and every one of you who took part in any way.

During this week, here at the Libero Network we did what we could to raise as much awareness and pass on as much information about Eating Disorders as possible.

Every day we posted a short video offering information on something pertaining to Eating Disorders and/or Recovery and each video also had a short ‘mythbuster’ at the end, where we counteracting common misconceptions related to Eating Disorders. In addition, we published several new blog posts that also related to Eating Disorders and raising awareness.

Thursday: Scott talks about the importance of talking to people about your Eating Disorder and not being ashamed because you are a guy. He busts the myth that eating disorders are a ‘girl thing’…

Friday: Lauren B. talks about Disordered Eating (did you know 1 in 2 women struggle with this?) and how this differs from having an eating disorder. She busts the myth that eating disorders are about food & weight…

Saturday: Jess talks about dealing with triggers in recovery and busts the myth that the Media causes eating disorders…

Saturday: We wrap it up with Lauren B. talking about Intuitive Eating – walking through the eating guidelines and how to implement them. She goes up against the myth that there is such a thing as ‘good food’ and ‘bad food’ – food is just food!
